The project comes from the desire to internalize, sensualize and question the notion of the exotic. How is it to find yourself inside the 2.5-metre-high fibres of a woollen, Persian carpet? To touch it, smell the sheep, feel the warmth radiating from it? And to experience its overwhelming presence, which is not so much the presence of a rug but that of a forest.

Both the proximity of an animal (smell) and the rescaling (the size of the fibres) are an attempt to shift our perception and notion of our position as humans. The iconic image of a dragon, taken from the typology of Persian carpets, signifies power. It is the sheer power of a presence: the presence of the diverse and the Other in Gothenburg.
